Trey McBride was a bright spot in a stormy 2023 season for the Arizona Cardinals. After being given the TE1 role when Zach Ertz got injured, McBride broke out and put up multiple weeks of fantasy-relevant numbers, earning himself the starting role in 2024. The Cardinals will likely be a better offense in 2024, benefiting from a healthy Kyler Murray and third-overall pick Marvin Harrison Jr. at WR, and McBride should benefit from that.
Fantasy Pros have Trey McBride as the TE4 and the No. 61 pick in 2024 fantasy drafts. While Sam LaPorta, Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews are considered a tier above McBride in the position, the Cardinals have an easier schedule, which could push McBride into the TE3 spot on the season.
That said, it’s hard to pick McBride over any of the above, and you should be able to wait a while before taking him. If you can get him in the sixth round, McBride should represent solid value, but any earlier would be a reach.
Trey McBride’s 2024 NFL fantasy outlook: What numbers to expect from the Cardinals TE?
Looking at his 2023 stats, Trey McBride had a few very good weeks in fantasy football (high of 15.5), but there were also some low scores too. McBride caught 81 passes for 825 yards and 3 touchdowns, good for 100.5 fantasy points and a TE10 finish in standard leagues. Given that McBride won’t have Zach Ertz or anyone else ahead of him on the roster in 2024, his fantasy outlook for the season should be better.
Given that the Cardinals saw flashes of what he was capable of, it would be borderline negligence if they didn’t look to Trey McBride early and often to take the pressure off Kyler Murray. Presuming he stays healthy, expect McBride to register 100 catches for 950 yards and 5 TDs.
