Josh Allen had another dominating season in NFL fantasy and the Buffalo Bills QB is expected to put in similar numbers in 2024. The Bills may have fallen short of their expectations and there is talk that maybe their Super Bowl window is closing, but Allen has the ability to take them all the way.
If you are looking to target Josh Allen in your fantasy draft, you won’t have much time to debate because he is one of the top-performing quarterbacks and could go very early. In many drafts, he was the first QB off the board, and in some cases in the first round. If you want him, you’ll probably need to land him in the second round.
For those not looking to go QB too early, Allen’s numbers tell the whole story and if he falls to you in the third you should really think about taking him, and if you see him in the fourth snap him up.
Josh Allen’s 2024 NFL fantasy outlook: What numbers to expect from the Bills QB?
Josh Allen was the QB1 in NFL fantasy last season and recorded an impressive 392.64 points in standard scoring systems (fantasy.NFL.com). Throwing for 4,306 yards, 29 TDs and 19 INTs, Allen is a QB you’d much rather have on your team than play against. He also added a further 524 yards and 15 TDs on the ground as a pure example of a dual-threat QB.
Interestingly, 2023 was the first time Allen didn’t break 30 passing TDs since 2019, with him regularly hitting the mid-to-late 30s in previous years. That said, he upped his rushing TDs by 8, so it’s a little column A, little column B.
While the general expectation in business and sports is for numbers to rise and continuous growth, it seems a tall task for Josh Allen to improve on his stats in 2024. It just feels like too much to ask. With that in mind, similar numbers are a fair target, but perhaps a slight decline as the Bills look to win games without them degenerating into shootouts.
A good projection would be 4,200 yards and 28 TDs through the air, 600 yards and 9 TDs on the ground, with Josh Allen finishing being a top-two fantasy QB in 2024.
