Drake London is a breakout candidate in 2024 with the Atlanta Falcons, who have been trying to change the narrative this offseason. After struggling with what can only be called subpar QB play over the past few seasons, the Falcons have thrown a lot of money at Kirk Cousins, and presuming his Achilles holds up, he should elevate their offense significantly.
Looking at that offense (forgetting the Michael Penix Jr. selection), they have some of the best skill players in the NFL, with Bijan Robinson, Kyle Pitts and Drake London all being much better than they’ve shown thus far. With their fanbase and front office expecting Cousins to be a miracle cure, it will be interesting to see if he can live up to his $180 million price tag.
What has to be noted, is how well Cousins combined with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson, as well as considering how explosive the Minnesota Vikings’ offense was with him under center. This bodes well for Drake London, who might just fly under a lot of people’s radars in fantasy football.
Given that there are questions about Atlanta, it would be wise not to buy too fully into the hype. London could be a tremendous fantasy asset in 2024, but he is a gamble. Therefore, it would be a surprise if anyone picked London before the third round, which is when you’d start to look at him.
A fourth-round pick feels fair, as he has yet to truly deliver in fantasy football, so if WR options are looking sketchy at this stage, he’s worth a punt. Ultimately, the key is to get the best value possible, so if he were to fall to the fifth, this would be a great place to take him, but with hype building in Atlanta, it feels unlikely he will fall that far in bigger leagues.
Drake London’s 2024 NFL fantasy outlook: What numbers to expect from the Falcons WR?
This is a tricky one, as Atlanta has made major changes to their offense and coaching. That said, it feels reasonable to expect an uptick in 2024, and given that Drake London is yet to break a thousand yards in a season, this will be a personal goal for the WR.
London has 1,771 yards and 6 TDs across two seasons, a disappointment considering his abilities and the No. 8 draft pick used on him in 2022. With only 2 TDs in 2023, London has a point to prove, as do multiple offensive players in Atlanta.
Presuming he and Kirk Cousins stay healthy, a floor of 1,100 yards seems a very reasonable expectation, and recording 8 TDs would go a long way to proving himself.
