Isaiah Likely hit the 2024 season with an incredible 9 receptions for 111 yards and 1 TD, and was a few millimeters from making that 2. Likely was the TE1 in Week 1 and for teams struggling in the position, was one of the first waivers off the board.
If you have Likely you should start him, unless you have Travis Kelce, Sam LaPorta or maybe Mark Andrews. For those who have both Ravens TEs, you probably watched Isaiah Likely’s performance with fascinated horror and now have a decision to make.
Realistically, one performance isn’t enough to say there has been a changing of the guard in Baltimore, and both project to be good options in Week 2. If you have both, start Andrews, as he is the safer option, but if you have Likely you should start him in case he does it again.
One matter to consider is that the Ravens may readjust and as SI put it, “we might see an overcorrection in his (Andrews’) favor in Week 2.” Then again, we might not and Likely could go off a second time.
What numbers to expect from Isaiah Likely and Mark Andrews in Week 2
Mark Andrews is projected 9.05 points in Week 2, while Isaiah Likely is slated for 6.78. The Ravens look set to play them both together a lot and each should see a good volume of targets on a weekly basis.
There are concerns that they could both be boom-bust options as a result, but that is often the nature of the TE position. Baltimore faces the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2, and while the Raiders are a better side than people give them credit for, the Ravens should win this one fairly comfortably.
Expect Mark Andrews to bounce back from his 2.4-point week and break the 10-point barrier, while Isaiah Likely also goes over his projections. Whoever gets the touchdown(s) against Las Vegas will be something to watch, and this game should give us a clearer look for Week 3 onwards.
