The Atlanta Falcons entered the season with high expectations after signing QB Kirk Cousins, with Drake London, Bijan Robinson and Kyle Pitts all touted for big campaigns. While Pitts and Robinson came away with solid points from the low-scoring game, London did not.
Drake London saw three targets and caught two of them for 15 yards, recording 2.50 points in HPPR leagues. The positive is that the only way should be up from here, and London can certainly bounce back in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The game in Philly could be the highest-scoring matchup of the week, so London could be in for a key role and has a good shot at some end-zone activity. Adding to this, the Eagles had a tough time defensively in Week 1. While they stepped up when they had to in the 34-29 win, the Green Bay Packers did get their receivers 3 touchdowns (2 passing, 1 rushing).
Other Week 2 bounce-back candidates: Evan Engram, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Javonte Williams.
What numbers to expect from Drake London in Week 2?
Week 1 was a tough game for Atlanta, as the Pittsburgh Steelers defense is no joke, profiling to be among the best in the NFL. With this in mind, Drake London’s poor score feels like it will turn out to be an outlier in what could still be a career-best campaign.
London will be looking to break a thousand yards in 2024 and see a significant increase on his season-best TD numbers of 4. Given his obvious ability, the difference in defenses between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, and Kirk Cousins’ tough debut out the way, expect a better week.
As per The Athletic, Kirk Cousins is healthy, so there should be improvements from the QB position.
Drake London’s points range in Week 2 feels between 8-18, as can be seen in his 11.10 projections as per fantasy.nfl.com (HPPR). A minimum expectation would be 8 points from a high-scoring matchup in Philadelphia, and 14 points feels more likely.
