Alvin Kamara has started the 2024 NFL season at an incredible pace and after two huge performances is the No. 1 running back in NFL fantasy. In two games, Kamara has 198 rushing yards and 4 TDs, as well as 7 receptions for 91 yards and another TD.
It is almost impossible to predict Kamara to repeat his 4 TD performance from Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, but the RB is a must-start and a valuable trade piece all season long. Kamara is a good bet to beat his projections of 13.67 points (HPPR leagues) due to his abilities in the receiving game as well as on the ground.
In Week 3 the New Orleans Saints face the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Eagles have struggled with elite running backs in their opening two games.
In Week 1, Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs recorded 84 rushing yards, 20 receiving, and was a touchdown away from having a very big score. Atlanta Falcons RB Bijan Robinson had a similar experience on Monday, going for 97 yards on the ground and 25 through the air.
With this in mind, Alvin Kamara could blast past his projections and if he gets a touchdown could be in for another monster day. So yes, Kamara could certainly go big again in Week 3.
What numbers to expect from Alvin Kamara in Week 3?
Alvin Kamara has 62.50 fantasy points (HPPR) in only two games and looks set for another big display in Week 3. Against the Eagles, Kamara looks to have a range of 10-25 points, and as the Cowboys game showed, the Saints RB could go even higher.
Prediction: 17.5 points
Should you trade Alvin Kamara?
While Alvin Kamara’s trade value could dip from here, as he could get an injury or have a bad game in Week 3, realistically you should keep him unless you get an insanely lucrative offer. Kamara looks set for another big week in fantasy and the Saints are dominating early in 2024, so letting their premier RB go would be a bold call.
If you are set on trading Kamara, you should be demanding a 2-for-1 package that includes two top-tier options, or an elite QB/WR and a running back with high upside like J.K. Dobbins. This could be a hard sell, but Kamara’s numbers speak for themselves.
