Garrett Wilson has had a good two seasons in the NFL, putting up decent numbers with questionable quarterback play at the New York Jets. That was supposed to have been over in 2023, but Aaron Rodgers’ torn Achilles on the third offensive snap of the season was too much for the team to overcome.
Flash forward to now and Rodgers and Wilson are expected to build the kind of chemistry that could push the Jets into the postseason for the first time since the 2010 season. The AFC East is obviously a very tough division with the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins contenders, but if Rodgers can emulate his MVP form from Green Bay anything is possible.
It seems unlikely that Aaron Rodgers will form the kind of relationship with Garrett Wilson that he had with Davante Adams, but Wilson will almost certainly benefit from better QB play (presuming Rodgers stays healthy). Wilson could certainly explode in 2024, but at the very least should represent a dependable floor and a high ceiling on a weekly basis.
Garrett Wilson is the consensus WR8 with an ADP of 12 as per Fantasy Pros, which means he could be a really good pickup for those at the tail end of drafts in 12+ player leagues. Wilson has already shown what he can do with Zach Wilson under center, and no disrespect to him, but Rodgers has the stats to show why he represents such an upgrade.
What numbers to expect from Garrett Wilson in 2024
Garrett Wilson put up solid numbers in 2023 in a cold Jets offense, recording 95 receptions for 1,042 yards and 3 TDs. Wilson has a commendable 2,145 career yards across two seasons but will be looking to at least match his 7 total TDs in 2024.
An uptick in form is almost guaranteed, especially in the touchdown department. As such, a 1,200-yard and 7-TD season seems a fair baseline, with Wilson having the potential to go 200 yards and 3 TDs higher if the Jets hit the heights some are predicting.
Other WR fantasy outlooks: George Pickens, Diontae Johnson, Drake London & Terry McLaurin.
