Mark Andrews is clearly among the top tight ends in NFL fantasy, but injuries have started to catch up with the Baltimore Ravens receiver. The iconic No. 89 missed seven games in 2023, totaling nine in two seasons. Given Andrews takes a lot of contact in his position it’s not exactly surprising that he picks up knocks and is a frequent Q on injury reports.
That said, he is still one of the premier options in the position, but with Travis Kelce and George Kittle, as well as the emergence of a few other names like Sam LaPorta and David Njoku, Andrews might be slipping down draft boards a little bit. Fantasy Pros have Andrews’ average draft position at No. 53 as the fourth tight end of the board.
Getting Mark Andrews in the fourth or fifth round would be fantastic value, as he could easily be among the top two tight ends of the season. Even if he struggles with injuries, Andrews is still a potential game-winner when healthy, due to his solid floor and high ceiling.
Mark Andrews’ 2024 NFL fantasy outlook: What numbers to expect from the Ravens TE?
You could argue Mark Andrews is trending downward, as he has seen his numbers decline in recent seasons. Considering his availability on the one hand and his incredible performances in 2021 on the other, this is not entirely surprising.
That season, Andrews played all 17 games, recording 107 receptions for 1,361 yards and 9 TDs. In 2022 he missed two games, going for 73 receptions, 847 yards and 5 TDs., while in 2023, Andrews caught 45 receptions for 544 yards and 6 TDs across 10 games.
If he can stay healthy, it would be reasonable to expect 1,000 yards and 8 TDs from Mark Andrews, and he could go higher. However, it feels reasonable to expect Andrews to miss a game or two, either by necessity or for recovery, as he is so important to the Ravens’ Super Bowl aspirations. With that in mind, a baseline of 800 yards and 7 TDs feels fair.
