Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys were a force in NFL fantasy last season and given that their season ended in a surprising wild-card loss to the Green Bay Packers, expect them to have a point to prove in 2024.
Prescott is the QB9 on Fantasy Pros, and they have his average draft position at No. 61. Given that Prescott was the QB3 in 2023, he could have tremendous value if taken in the right place. With eight quarterbacks expected to go off the board before Prescott, you might be able to get him in the late fifth or later, depending on your league size.
Dak Prescott is a perfect target for teams looking to get their receiver and running back corps in early, and if he hits the highs of last season that could be a winning combination.
Dak Prescott’s 2024 fantasy outlook: What numbers to expect from the Cowboys QB?
In 2023, Dak Prescott threw for 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns and 9 interceptions, scoring a further 2 TDs on the ground. This was good for 342.8 fantasy points, so to rank Prescott as the QB9 seems a stretch. The cause for that is a likely mix of doubts about whether he can repeat his 2023 numbers, the Cowboys’ strength of schedule (11th hardest) and the myriad of contractual concerns for their skill players.
Presuming everyone stays put and healthy, it is reasonable to expect a decline in Dak Prescott’s numbers, and that’s mostly due to the highs of last season. Interestingly, Prescott has hit 4,400 yards twice before and after each of those campaigns suffered injuries and missed substantial time the next season. That aside, if he does stay healthy, a 4,300-yard season and 33 total touchdowns seems a fair target.
