The Denver Broncos are second in the AFC West after winning three of their last four games. Bo Nix and the offense are starting to gel and with an elite defense, the Broncos are a potential playoff team at 5-3.

There is a long way to go and the Week 9 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens could be something of a litmus test for Denver, so let’s take a look at their fantasy weapons ahead of the game:

Broncos’ Week 9 Fantasy Outlooks

QB: Bo Nix

Bo Nix was the sixth QB off the board in the 2024 NFL draft and is transitioning nicely into the league. Nix is coming off a 4 TD day (3 passing, 1 rushing) against Carolina that netted him 29.76 fantasy points.

Nix faces a Ravens team susceptible to the pass. Baltimore is 30th against QBs in fantasy, conceding an average of 21.33 points per game to the position. Given his ability in the rushing game, Nix is well worth a start for teams in a bit of a pinch at QB.

Bo Nix’s points range: 8-30, Prediction: 15.5

RBs; Javonte Williams & Jaleel McLaughlin

Javonte Williams had been steadily improving after a rough start and went for 111 total yards and 2 TDs (24.60 points, HPPR) against New Orleans in Week 8. However, he followed it up with 7.20 points in Week 9, while RB2 Jaleel McLaughlin got the TD and finished with 12.10 points.

Williams dominates the Broncos’ backfield for touches and was a yard off getting a TD of his own against the Panthers. That TD was then scored by Bo Nix, and this is symbolic of the issues fantasy managers are having with the Broncos’ weapons.

It’s hard to predict which Denver players will get into the endzone in 2024 and both RBs are risky picks against Baltimore. The Ravens’ offense not only scores a lot of points but eats up a lot of clock while they do it, so a poor game script could severely hamper the Denver RBs.

Javonte Williams’ points range: 6-25, Prediction: 11

Jaleel McLaughlin’s points range: 2-13, Prediction: 6

WRs: Courtland Sutton & Lil’Jordan Humphrey

Courtland Sutton is the main WR in Denver and the only one you should consider starting in fantasy football. While the Ravens may struggle against the pass, Lil’Jordan Humphrey has put up a combined 5.70 points in three weeks across HPPR leagues. That may change here, but it is too big a risk to gamble on.

Sutton is a good start against Baltimore, and while he has been inconsistent, his three weeks of 13+ points make him the only Broncos receiver you can safely start. Sutton projects to be a high-end WR2 this week and could be in for a big game.

Courtland Sutton’s points range: 4-20, Prediction: 14.5

TE: Adam Trautman

Tight end is always a difficult position to navigate in fantasy football, and National Tight End Day saw a lot of TEs getting in the endzone. Adam Trautman was one such player, and his 85 yards and TD for 16.50 points (HPPR) masked an otherwise poor season. Trautman otherwise had not broken 3 points in a game and is a risky start against Baltimore.

Adam Trautman’s points range: 1-17, Prediction: 3
