The Las Vegas Raiders have had an up-and-down start to the 2024 season, and are looking to rebound hard after a painful 36-22 loss to the Carolina Panthers. The Raiders were poor against Carolina and have a slew of injuries to contend with in Week 4. With no Davante Adams and Maxx Crosby, LV is facing adversity before the game has even started.
While both teams are 1-2, the Browns will feel like they have the edge here, as they have an elite defense that might be able to pull them out of trouble. This is projected to be a low-scoring game, which would be problematic for fantasy football managers. Let’s take a look at the Raiders’ top fantasy weapons in Week 4:
Raiders QB Fantasy Outlook: Gardner Minshew
Gardner Minshew is a very steady hand and while many believe he does not have what it takes to lead a team into the postseason, he can be a useful QB in fantasy football. However, Minshew has been consistently in the lower tier of QBs in 2024, throwing 1 TD and 1 INT in every game and scoring 10-13 points in each.
Factor in his best-receiving option missing the game and the Browns D being pretty scary, and you should not risk starting Gardner Minshew in Week 4.
Gardner Minshew’s points range: 7-18; Prediction: 10.5
Raiders RB Fantasy Outlooks: Zamir White & Alexander Mattison
Zamir White has been a source of frustration for his fantasy managers and is a bench/trade candidate already. White has seen Alexander Mattison start to cut into his volume, and Mattison has gotten into the endzone twice to White’s 0.
White has only 102 yards across three games and is too risky to start here. Given how he is trending downwards, trading him would net minimal returns and you would be better off stashing him on your bench and hoping for better days. Mattison should also be kept on your bench unless you are extremely thin at RB, and in which case you start him at your own risk.
Zamir White’s points range: 3-10; Prediction: 6
Alexander Mattison’s points range: 3-15; Prediction: 6
Raiders WR Fantasy Outlook: Jakobi Meyers
While Davante Adams being out is bad news for the Raiders, it is potentially good news for their WR2, Jakobi Meyers. Meyers is pretty good as a WR2 in fantasy and does have a tendency to get a solid floor of 7+ points as the second man in LV.
With more targets in Week 4, Meyers is the best option from the team in fantasy football and can be started in the WR2 or flex spot, unless you are gifted with a glut of incredible receivers.
Tre Tucker will likely slip into the WR2 role this week, but he is a risky start and should be benched in case of consistent performances or injuries in LV.
Jakobi Meyers’ points range: 8-25; Prediction: 14
Raiders TE Fantasy Outlook: Brock Bowers
Brock Bowers has transitioned into the NFL almost seamlessly and is the clear TE 1 in Las Vegas. Bowers will benefit in fantasy football from Adams and TE2 Michael Mayer being out, and should see his already solid numbers increase.
Bowers is yet to get into the end zone but did manage a 14.30-point day in Week 2. With the TE position being particularly troublesome this year, Bowers is as good a start as anyone in the position.
Brock Bowers’ points range: 5-20; Prediction: 12
