Stacking in NFL fantasy can make your week, month and year if you get the right combination. That said, a bad stack can be costly, and having too many of the same teammates is always a risky play.

A QB-WR or QB-TE stack is generally the safest stack you can have, although some receiving-back stacks can go big. The benefit of having a QB in your stack is you can double up when he throws a TD to your receiver, but fielding more than two players from the same team is a huge risk.

The Arizona Cardinals will be hoping to make some noise in 2024, after finishing last in the NFC West for consecutive years. Their hope rests entirely on Kyler Murray‘s health and the performance of Marvin Harrison Jr., a potential generational talent at WR.

Murray generally has to move around a lot due to his 5-foot-10 height, but his mobility gives the Cardinals options. We’ve all seen how effective he can be in the running game, and escaping the pocket could mean big plays for Harrison.

If you are to get these two, you’ll need to target Harrison in the first two rounds, preferably the second (ADP 15). You can then play it cool as you select a few other weapons before landing Murray later (ADP 70).

The chemistry between Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce at the Kansas City Chiefs needs no introduction. As per Statmus, Mahomes and Kelce have combined for 589 receptions, 7,303 yards and 53 touchdowns, which represents a bucket load of fantasy points.

Last season did see a dip in the TE’s performance and an uptick in knocks, and he will hit 35 years old this season. The Chiefs do not seem concerned in the slightest, as they gave him a $34.25 million extension. Kelce did, however, step up massively in the postseason, and enters the 2024 season with a clean bill of health.

As for Patrick Mahomes, he also saw a decline in fantasy in 2023, largely due to his receivers, and looks primed to improve this year. The Chiefs have a new speedster in Xavier Worthy, which should open the field more for Kelce and Co., which can only be good for Mahomes.

If you are to stack these two, you’ll need to be A) lucky and B) fast, as Mahomes has an ADP of 31 and Kelce, 27. This feels like a potential strategy if you have a very early pick in a 12+ team league, as you might be able to pick them up in the second and third in quick succession.

Christian McCaffrey had an incredible 2023 season, silencing all his critics who doubted his durability. Yes, CMC has seen his fair share of injuries but he is going to go No. 1 in 99.99% of fantasy drafts. If you get him, you can wait a good long time before picking up Brock Purdy at QB, who has an ADP of No. 97.

McCaffrey is clearly the big draw of this stack, but he did catch 7 TDs in 2023 and Purdy looks to him often in the passing game (CMC: 67 receptions, 564 yards receiving in 2023). Purdy had a very strong fantasy season as well, finishing as the QB6 with 306.6 points on the year.

Given how many weapons you could get between CMC and No. 97, this could be a hugely successful stack if you are lucky enough to land McCaffrey.

This is another one of the trickiest stacks to land, but if you do get the opportunity you should take it without hesitation. CeeDee Lamb is going to be one of the earliest picks in 2024 drafts, and will likely be second or third off the board. Dak Prescott, however, will be several rounds later with an ADP of 76.

This is a curious ADP for Dak Prescott, as he is coming off a tremendous 2023 season where he recorded 351 fantasy points from 4,516 yards and 36 TDs. So if you find yourself with the second/third pick in the draft, taking Lamb there and going after Prescott later is a very good strategy. That said, you may have to reach a little as Prescott could easily go earlier than 76.

For the first half of the 2023 season, the Philadelphia Eagles were dominating the NFL and went 10โ€“1 before hitting a wall. A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts put up big numbers in fantasy and as a stack, they arguably have the most upside in the NFL.

While Hurts throwing to Brown is the most obvious way this works (106 receptions, 1,456 yards & 7 TDs in 2023), another thing to consider is Hurts had the majority of the Eagles rushing TDs too (15 in 2023).

The ‘tush-push’ is a controversial play. However, until it is banned or defended, Hurts taking the lion’s share of rushing TDs and Brown being the WR1 means you have the majority of the Eagles’ offense in a two-player stack.

Getting these two is a winning strategy but again you’ll need a combination of luck and good planning. Hurts has an ADP of 30 as the QB2, while Brown is expected to go at No. 9. This essentially means that unless you are incredibly lucky you will need to reach a little for one of them, or potentially both.
