With the tight end position always a gamble and big names like Tarvis Kelce and Mark Andrews fading in fantasy football, streaming tight ends is more necessary than ever. There are very few tight ends that you shouldn’t consider on a week-to-week basis, so let’s look at three potential streamers for Week 4:
3 Tight End Streamers for Fantasy Football Week 4
#1, Cole Kmet, Bears (vs. Rams) – 33.8% rostered
Cole Kmet rewarded the managers who kept faith in him after two bad weeks, and on Sunday reeled in 10 of 11 targets for 97 yards and a touchdown, totaling 20.70 points (HPPR). While the Bears lost 21-16 to the Indianapolis Colts, they face a suspect defense in Week 4 in the LA Rams.
While the Rams just about got it done in a dramatic comeback against the San Francisco 49ers, LA has conceded 91 points in three games. This is a chance for the Bears’ offense to make a statement, and Cole Kmet will surely be part of that.
If Kmet is available on waivers or as a free agent, you should pick him up and unless you have a big-name tight end, Kmet should start for you.
#2, Zach Ertz, Commanders (@ Cardinals) – 13.4% rostered
The Washington Commanders just recorded an exciting 38-33 win over the Cincinnati Bengals and this could be the injection of confidence rookie QB Jayden Daniels needs. While Daniels is not yet spreading the ball about enough to expect 100-yard games from a tight end, Zach Ertz is getting targets and is on the cups of being fantasy-relevant.
Ertz didn’t build on his Week 2, 8.20-point performance mainly because his looks were exclusively in the short passing game. He still came away with 5 catches for 38 yards and 6.30 points, and if the Commanders are to get their passing game going, he will be a big part of that.
The Cardinals represent an interesting opponent, and with the total over/under set at 50 points, this is expected to be one of the highest-scoring games of the week. This can only be good news for Zach Ertz’s fantasy outlook.
#3, Tyler Conklin, Jets (vs. Broncos) – 3.9% rostered
Tyler Conklin looked dominant in the Jets’ 24-3 win over the New England Patriots last Thursday, recording 5 catches for 93 yards and 11.80 points (HPPR). Conklin barely got a look in across the first two weeks and therefore represents substantial risk here.
The Denver Broncos are allowing an average of 10 points per game to tight ends this season, so Conklin could be worth a roll of the dice. The Jets TE is rostered in only 3.9% of leagues, so is likely available.
At the very least, he is well worth picking up and keeping an eye on if you aren’t quite confident enough to start him.
